Week 24!

fun fact about Sister Sanders... she can't open plastic water bottles to save her life so I always have to open them for her haha! NEWS FLASH missions are hard guys haha. the past couple weeks have been tougher... we were so tired, everything was falling through, we felt like all of our efforts were not fruitful. and we're out here in Eastland all by ourselves but I talked to my mission president about it in our interview after zone conference. I was telling him how I was struggling in the area but as I was talking, I realized that no matter how sad I am on Mondays or how tired I am on Thursdays or anything, I'm generally happy all week while we're doing missionary work! so even though it's hard cause I don't get the same social satisfaction out here, I'm still being blessed. president described it as God making up for it... he knew this area was going to be hard for me so he's blessing me with joy in the work during the week. he will bless us! maybe not...

week 23!! didn't do a fun fact about Sister Sanders last week so I'll do two today...  1) she didn't like mangoes before we were comps and now I've converted her 2) she's the oldest sibling like me hehe  this week was wild! it was hard because we didn't have our car until Saturday BUT we made it work! honestly it was a blessing... we realized how fun it is to ride our bikes, we talked to more people, and we saved miles so we can go to one of the towns that's a bit farther away in our area this week! some highlights... 1) the weather was nice so we did some lessons outside!! 2) we had a couple sweet members that took us to and from Cisco on Wednesday so we were able to meet with a member family out there! one of the little girls licked fun dip candy off the table in the middle of the lesson it was so hard for me to keep it together:,) 3) had w different members take us to dinner at a Chinese buffet two days in a row HAHA 4) walked around in our sketch town ra...

week 22!! 5 months as a missionary WHAAAAT! fun fact about Sister sanders, she showed goats in fair auctions in high school! made big bucks from it:,) First week in Eastland maaan it was wild. a lot happened, I'll just go day by day. Monday was so sad:,( it was my last day in lubbock so saying goodbye to everyone was a rip BUT it was fun! went to a cool antique shop. Tuesday was transfers, rode up in the van with a couple of my Lubbock friends and met Sister sanders!! she is the cutest ever and she's SO NICE.. very motivated missionary. Wednesday we had district council in Brownwood about an hour from Eastland. the elders in our district are hilarious I love them. we also went and helped a lady in our branch feed her goats! there were 35 baby ones and we bottle fed one.  Thursday we headed to Cisco, one of the closer towns in our huge area:,) We walked up and down main for a bit and met some shop owners! small town people are so kind and their accents are so thick cause they...

Week 21!

biiiig news yall, I'm getting transfered out of lubbock:,( I'm SO sad to leave WOW the people here are remarkable and have taught me sooo much more than I could have every taught them. I'm heading to Eastland, TX! I bet none of you know where that is :,) it's a TINY town between Abilene and Fort Worth, the farthest east our mission boundaries go. it's an hour away from any other missionaries so it is LITERALLY the complete opposite of Lubbock... as if that werent enough change, IM TRAINING. well I'm finishing someone's training so my new comp has been out six weeks and I'll train her for the next six.  if I'm being completely honest, these are my two worst fears. I LOVE being around other missionaries, it's a lot of good emotional and spiritual support especially in times where a companionship or an area might be struggling. also, I'm terrified of messing up this new missionarys training:,) I feel like i just got here, i'm not perfectly g...

week 20 !! only one week left of transfer # 3 !!!     fun fact about Sister Avery: she made stir fry almost every day for dinner in college. she made it for me last night and it was FIRE.     this week FLEW by.. I think it's because people started talking about transfers. I feel like things just got settled down but HEY right when you're comfortable, God wants to push you out of that. no growth in the comfort zone! I might stay a 4th transfer but I could Asli get booted, who knows.. well I will on Saturday so stay tuned for next week :,)     one miracle from this week... I ACTUALLY FOUND SOMEONE TO TEACH FROM FACEBOOK WORK! maybe that's a super easy and reliable way to find in other missions but it's rare here. his name is Lantri!! he's super cool, down to earth, and down to learn more. we had a lesson on Tuesday where we introduced the Book of Mormon and we'll talk about it tomorrow! I have high hopes and faith for this guy!     another miracle.....
