Week 20!

week 20 !! only one week left of transfer # 3 !!!

fun fact about Sister Avery: she made stir fry almost every day for dinner in college. she made it for me last night and it was FIRE.

this week FLEW by.. I think it's because people started talking about transfers. I feel like things just got settled down but HEY right when you're comfortable, God wants to push you out of that. no growth in the comfort zone! I might stay a 4th transfer but I could Asli get booted, who knows.. well I will on Saturday so stay tuned for next week :,)

one miracle from this week... I ACTUALLY FOUND SOMEONE TO TEACH FROM FACEBOOK WORK! maybe that's a super easy and reliable way to find in other missions but it's rare here. his name is Lantri!! he's super cool, down to earth, and down to learn more. we had a lesson on Tuesday where we introduced the Book of Mormon and we'll talk about it tomorrow! I have high hopes and faith for this guy!

another miracle.. we made 150 cards for our member friend to hand out at the jail on Christmas.. super simple just had a God loves you and you're in our prayers type message. Sister Wilson told us on wednesday that when she handed them out, everyone was getting emotional, even the grown men on her aggravated assault pod. they're used to getting forgotten so it blew their minds that someone did something for them. then she told us that there were 0 fights all day which is CRAZY, usually Christmas is the worst day because everyone is mad at the world and each other. reach out to someone in need! help someone feel loved! we don't know the impact it will have!

I went to the temple again this week! when we were walking in, Sister Avery stopped at a painting. it was kind of an impressionist style painting probably of the nephites... she shared an analogy with me:

when you look at a 2x2 inch box of an impressionist painting, you can't tell what the painting is supposed to be. it's blurry, it's confusing and it's hard to understand. but when you step back and look at the whole thing, each little dot makes a beautiful picture. it's similar for our lives..  we only get to see a little 2x2 box. our view is limited and we often find ourselves thinking "why is this happening to me" or "how long will this have to last." but heavenly father can see the WHOLE picture of eternity! he knows us best and he will place opportunities and people in our lives to guide us along when we can't seem to see what's ahead. the closer we get to God, the bigger our scope will be and we will gain greater trust in him and the future.

have a gr8 week! check out president Nelson's challenge for us for the new year! I miss you all!!!! sending hugs
