Week 28!

Image
fun fact about Sister Sanders... one of the goals she has for her mission is to fence, not that sword fighting stuff but like putting up a wood fence. apparently she helped with the one on her family's property and loved it hahah. DUDE the weather here has been insane. on Tuesday it was sunny, the high was 86 and then 2 days later it was totally overcast and the high was 36... yesterday it was totally calm and sunny in the morning and then at night there was a literal INSANE wind and rain storm... what is texas:,) this week was a week of little miracles. I think God knew we needed a bit of a boost out here:,)  we had a GREAT Bible study again this week and we met the hosts daughters! one of them shared with me that she was reading about the good Samaritan in her picture book Bible. I challenged her to be a good neighbor to the kids at school that week. the next day her mom sent a video of her telling me about all the people she had helped. I couldn't help but visualize her in 2...

Week 27!

wow yall I hit 6 MONTHS this week!! it's been the longest & shortest 6 months ever haha. transfer news... we're staying together here in Eastland! haven't had enough of the duo yet apparently. this week was yet another slow week... but we saw some little miracles! and any miracle is a good one:)  we went to a Bible study that someone Sister sanders found on Facebook hosts! there were 5 other people there, all from the same Christian church congregation, so it was a little intimidating to go into it as the outsider and have to focus entirely on the Bible but honestly, it was incredible! we learned a lot from them and we were able to share some cool insights too! I am so thankful that I felt inspired to start studying the Bible daily this transfer because I was a lot more prepared than I would have been otherwise:,) we were able to get 3 of our inactive members to church yesterday!!! we've been working with all of them consistently this transfer and they finally all c...

Week 26!

holy guys it's the last full week of the transfer, we're gonna find out if Sister Sanders will be leaving me on Saturday night:,( PRAY SHE STAYS haha. fun fact about her... she kills on the piano, plays some super fancy stuff like Chopin and Beethovan... but she can't play the hymn "i heard the bells on Christmas day" which I understand... that one's hard for no reason we helped with a seminary class this past week and we were talking about why we have to ask God for blessings through prayer. if God is all knowing and loving and powerful, doesn't he know how and when to bless us without us asking? Sister Stillwell brought up a super important point that I hadn't thought of... God loves us SO much, obviously he wants to bless us! but he's not going to take away our agency. asking for help and blessings is our way to access it, to choose it.  that being said, we may choose to ask for blessings that aren't God's will and not receiving those is...

Week 25!

fun fact about Sister Sanders... her favorite snack at home was toast with butter and honey on it. now she has me converted and after a long day that's our before bed snack:) there was a huge freeze this week! luckily we were able to make it down to Brownwood to hang out with the 4 elders in our district on pday. we went bowling! it was honestly such a blessing that we were able to do that cause I missed doing fun stuff on pdays HAHA. but on our way home it started raining and sleeting pretty bad sooo we knew we were gonna be stuck in for a bit. ended up being all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. it just never warmed up enough to clear the ice so layer after layer built up. we would've gone put and tried to work but school was cancelled and jobs were cancelled... everything shuts down here! they just don't have the weather countermeasures they should hahah oh well. I thought we were gonna go crazy but honestly it wasn't too bad! we just have so much fun together th...
