Week 21!

biiiig news yall, I'm getting transfered out of lubbock:,( I'm SO sad to leave WOW the people here are remarkable and have taught me sooo much more than I could have every taught them.
I'm heading to Eastland, TX! I bet none of you know where that is :,) it's a TINY town between Abilene and Fort Worth, the farthest east our mission boundaries go. it's an hour away from any other missionaries so it is LITERALLY the complete opposite of Lubbock...
as if that werent enough change, IM TRAINING. well I'm finishing someone's training so my new comp has been out six weeks and I'll train her for the next six.

if I'm being completely honest, these are my two worst fears. I LOVE being around other missionaries, it's a lot of good emotional and spiritual support especially in times where a companionship or an area might be struggling. also, I'm terrified of messing up this new missionarys training:,) I feel like i just got here, i'm not perfectly good at following the rules, and I wish my testimony were just a liiiitle bit stronger. so when we got the call, I freaked out because it felt like EVERYTHING fell apart. even if you aren't a missionary, I'm sure you've felt this way?

all these inadequate and anxious feelings are normal. God knows we're gonna feel this way. he puts us in situations where we'll feel this way for a reason! there's no growth in the comfort zone and I know God has something for me to learn from this. doesn't mean it's going to be easy, that everything will be butterflies and rainbows... but we can rest assured that God will fulfill his promises to us if we just trust in him.

I've decided to make JOY my theme of 2023. not just happiness, but pure and enduring joy despite circumstances. I'm going to be a missionary for ALL of 2023! that means I'm going to be thrown into lots of growing experiences! but there's no better way to feel that true joy then when you're focused on the savior, which i am especially right now! read Russell M Nelson's talk "joy and spiritual survival" from the October 2016 conference ITS GREAT! take this opportunity to focus on christ and joy with me! we can all grow together

if you have any tips or words of encouragement, please send them my way! if you don't have those, at least send prayers for me and my new comp:,)

love you all so much!!!
