Week 23!
week 23!!
didn't do a fun fact about Sister Sanders last week so I'll do two today...
1) she didn't like mangoes before we were comps and now I've converted her
2) she's the oldest sibling like me hehe
this week was wild! it was hard because we didn't have our car until Saturday BUT we made it work! honestly it was a blessing... we realized how fun it is to ride our bikes, we talked to more people, and we saved miles so we can go to one of the towns that's a bit farther away in our area this week!
some highlights...
1) the weather was nice so we did some lessons outside!!
2) we had a couple sweet members that took us to and from Cisco on Wednesday so we were able to meet with a member family out there! one of the little girls licked fun dip candy off the table in the middle of the lesson it was so hard for me to keep it together:,)
3) had w different members take us to dinner at a Chinese buffet two days in a row HAHA
4) walked around in our sketch town ranger for like 3 hours, the main street there is DESERTED its so weird
5) served in the food pantry again!! definitley a highlight of my week... it was super busy but so fun!
6) I FINALLY COLLAGED AGAIN! so great, I've been missing it
spiritual thought!! we hopped on an institute class zoom call specially for missionaries... it was SO COOL!! we talked about faith, hope, and charity! we focused on charity for a big part of it which was perfect. an elder made a comment about the classic charity verse that says "charity suffereth long." He said there are lots of interpretations for it but his (and now mine) is that "charity [allows you to] suffer long." this means that when we focus on the pure love of christ, we will be able to endure our trials until they are over, whether its an hour or a year. I'm trying to focus on joy for all of 2023 which is a challenge when I have to deal with difficult people and situations so often... seeing christ in everything and loving people and things like he would is charity... that brings joy! this week had a unique set of challenges but I would say that this was one of the most joyful weeks of my mission overall, probably because I was able to see the little tender mercies and blessings from God amidst a trial. focus on charity! focus on christ! believe in him and believe him!
love yall! you're amazing and God loves you DONT FORGET IT!!
