Week 27!

wow yall I hit 6 MONTHS this week!! it's been the longest & shortest 6 months ever haha.
transfer news... we're staying together here in Eastland! haven't had enough of the duo yet apparently.

this week was yet another slow week... but we saw some little miracles! and any miracle is a good one:)
we went to a Bible study that someone Sister sanders found on Facebook hosts! there were 5 other people there, all from the same Christian church congregation, so it was a little intimidating to go into it as the outsider and have to focus entirely on the Bible but honestly, it was incredible! we learned a lot from them and we were able to share some cool insights too! I am so thankful that I felt inspired to start studying the Bible daily this transfer because I was a lot more prepared than I would have been otherwise:,)
we were able to get 3 of our inactive members to church yesterday!!! we've been working with all of them consistently this transfer and they finally all came! they loved it and were so glad they came, vickey and Debbie even stayed for 2nd hour and the potluck.

since our area is so slow, it's been very easy to get discouraged. but since we found out that we're staying together this transfer, we decided we need a new focus, a new "why" for being in this area. and we decided it is to strength the branch from the inside out! focus on teaching the members how to fellowship, reactivating lost members, and building a strong church family to prepare for when there is someone ready to receive the gospel and join the congregation. we're really excited about it!

in the spirit of fellowship and also valentines day (happy late one to all the guys and gals), I want to share my current favorite verse in scripture right now...
"And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain." -3 Nephi 12:41 or Matthew 5:41
I LOVE this verse! it is so simple, yet so profound. things happen quick in our world today, everyone's lives are moving a million miles per hour. sometimes we feel as though we don't have time for anything extra, there's too much on my plate already. but we always have time for one more mile! Jesus made time to walk miles with everyone and look at the difference that made! I believe that as we look outside ourselves and find ways to serve or simply love those around us, we will find that we will have plenty of time for the IMPORTANT things, the things that matter most. I challenge yall to look at what you can change! look at what you can cut out! and replace with with some acts of service, some mile walking;)

you're all incredible. love yall so much!
