Week 25!
fun fact about Sister Sanders... her favorite snack at home was toast with butter and honey on it. now she has me converted and after a long day that's our before bed snack:)
there was a huge freeze this week! luckily we were able to make it down to Brownwood to hang out with the 4 elders in our district on pday. we went bowling! it was honestly such a blessing that we were able to do that cause I missed doing fun stuff on pdays HAHA. but on our way home it started raining and sleeting pretty bad sooo we knew we were gonna be stuck in for a bit. ended up being all day Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. it just never warmed up enough to clear the ice so layer after layer built up. we would've gone put and tried to work but school was cancelled and jobs were cancelled... everything shuts down here! they just don't have the weather countermeasures they should hahah oh well. I thought we were gonna go crazy but honestly it wasn't too bad! we just have so much fun together that it makes the hard things easier. we made a bunch of calls, did some video lessons, and ended up finding a couple new people to teach that way! kinda cool.
highlights: made some FIRE stirfry one night, got calls from 2 of my favorite sets of elders from my time in lubbock:,), made a collage on the cover of a book of mormon, BROKE OUR FAST FROM SUGAR and ate chocolate peanut butter ice cream for breakfast that day (honestly I don't crave treats as much as I did so that's a blessing), talked a lot about the atonement♡, and played cards with the Kellers!
I've been reading the book of mormon and, at the moment, I'm working through the war chapters. sigh. it just seems like so much wickedness and the same evil pattern over and over. can't they just be righteous for a few chapter at least? haha. but as I have been trying to apply the scriptures to myself, it's forced me to look at those chapters in a different way. the nephites are the ones slipping into wickedness at this point, meaning they have been taught the gospel! their ancestors were Nephi and Jacob! but they still fell into temptation:( when I got to helaman 5, "remember" was one of the most repeated words. if only these people had remembered what they'd been taught! then these wars would not have happened! if only they would've truly built their foundation on Jesus Christ!
right now, I am focusing on Jesus Christ pretty much 24/7 but I have been thinking a lot about how things will be when I get home. I won't have 2 hours set aside for studying, I won't be sharing my testimony with everyone... but I better REMEMBER all the wonderful things I experiences and the habits that I have built.
for yall! you've been taught good things! you know Jesus Christ! he has changed you! how does that make you want to live differently? do you forget sometimes? I know I did when I was home. but the most amazing thing is that Jesus doesn't go anywhere:) he's waiting there with open arms for us to return and remember him. REMEMBER!
love yall so much!! miss yall!! email or message me if you need anything!
