Week 74!
today i hit 17 months as a missionary... i dont even know what to think. so many thoughts have been jumbled in my mind for the past few days with friends wrapping up their missions, friends starting school, even friends getting married. and im here! all that used to make me sad but now it makes me stressed... id rather just stay a missionary forever. honestly whats better than studying & sharing the gospel & having $120 load into your card twice a week? hahah
but anyways, this week was awesome... it honestly felt like an eternity but i dont know why cause SCHOOLS BACK IN! its been fun to learn the college campus way of street contacting. sis oliver said hi to a kid & he just looked at her, walked away, and started laughing HAHA. but we've had some very kind people talk with us as well. there was this one guy named Nate Reed who asked us for directions somwhere. after we pulled it up for him on maps & explained that we're missionaries, he proceeded to sample some acoustic country/christian covers for us in the middle of campus... if you need a worship leader in your southern baptist church, i gotchu.... jk he honestly wasnt very good but it sure was entertaining.
in other news, i finished the my plan program (*barf*), drove through a massive dust storm & got tumbleweeds stuck in our car, beat sis oliver in yet another round of cards, and the gas at circle k took literally 30 minutes to fill but a nice crisp mtn dew voltage made it feel better.
we had an awesome lesson with this chick named haley this week... she was marked at a "do not contact" in our areabook but it didnt specify why so we had a lesson scheduled with her... we were terrified at first obviously but she was actually SO COOL. she told us that she first met the missionaries before covid but then ended up losing contacting with them. shes now an active devout baptist but she said that the missionaries running into her & talking to her those few years ago really kickstarted her own personal journey with christ. i loved hearing that because it goes to show that we make an impact more than we often know. but it also broke my heart a little because she just treats that as a simple part of her journey instead of making it her journey. we hope to work with her more & see if she would ever be interested in meeting again more seriously but i dont know if she will. overall though, that experience encouraged me to continue to be a light but also to be bold & persistent especially when it comes to the gospel. this is the guidebook to life now & into eternity! the cheatcode! i want to share it with anyone who will hear!
something super simple & profound for us all to ponder:
IN EVERYTHING, THERE IS CHRIST!
thats all for today folks, sorry its a longer one. but just know youre loved & watched over! & that i care about you!
