Week 63!
TRANSFER NEWS!! I'm killing the gravedigger:,( I am going to miss queen beames SOO much, we have truly grown so much together these last two transfers & she has inspired me to be a true disciple forever! this won't be the last you see of our iconic duo I can promise that! my new companion is gonna be sister bigler... stay tuned for a new transfer!
I'm gonna hit yall with a highlight reel again cause this is like 2 weeks worth of fun info
- me & sis beames were the lone sistas that went mountain biking with the elders last pday... on our dinky roadbikes HAHA it was so funny
- mike played in a wheelchair basketball game which was so cool to watch. there were these two guys that play for a full contact tackle wheelchair football team... don't know how that works but it sounds dope
- we did a good amount of member lessons this week since sis beames is getting ready to leave! some of my favs were making cupcakes with sis albright & talking with her about recognizing the spirit, our lesson with Christina where we watched the Washington DC temple tour video & she expressed her desire to go inside the temple soon, recording "you are my sunshine" with mike & talking with him about how we can find light & joy through Christ regardless of what's happening or not happening in our lives, talking with ivan about ether 6 & the storms in life that push us to the promised land, the orbeez object lesson with the pruetts about focus in chrisg despite distractions... just so many good things. already as of today, we've had 8 member lessons this week haha. so epic.
- we had our combined ward trunk or treat & we obviously dressed up as elders cause that's the classic sister halloween costume. we got to judge the chili from the chili cookoff with the other elders & all the bishops!
- a newer member family in the ward made us traditional Filipino food! shout out to the escelaras!
and now I'm gonna hit yall with the coolest little miracle:
we have been having a slow couple weeks since Christina's baptism & it's been tough for me. I have been experiencing a lot of burnout, probably some of the worst my whole mission. so finding joy in the little things & finding ways to feel fulfilled has been my focus! me 7 sis beames decided to BUILD THE BUILDERS this week, basically serving the people that serve others. so often, we overlook those who seem to be doing fine because they are able to help other people... why would they need help? BUT we made that a focus so we went to drop by some stuff to sis hathaway who is in the relief society presidency. sheeee is a builder! we ended up sitting and talking with her for a bit & it went good but we didn't think much of it. but on Monday, she came by to our apartment & gave us a card and $50 each!!! she told us that she was SO grateful for the time we took to serve her because she's been depressed & felt like no one cared about her or her efforts. she said that we helped her feel so seen & so loved! I will never forget the true gratitude & the urgency I could see on her face when she said that she never wanted us to forget the light that we bear! so all my fellow missionaries, don't forget to build the builders in your ward or branch or even other missionaries in your district. your light can touch all kinds of people!!
that's all for today folks... love ya tons!
