Week 50!

FIRST I HAVE TO TELL YALL ABOUT MORE ABOUT JON!!!

okay so last yall heard, we gave him & his mom a BoM and we talked about our church being unified worldwide... WELL!

he read!!! he read the intro all the way through 1 nephi 5 in 2 days (and he said he had to read it a few times to understand) and then also read ether 2 & 3!! & he loved it! that was the only reading we gave him but he also did a BUNCH of research on his own about the early history of the church & he LOVES joseph smith & brigham young. he literally asks the perfect questions every time we talk to him & the spirit literally speaks through me when we talk. it is INCREDIBLE!

and then he came to church!!! he said it was all very foreign and new to him and that he wished he knew more about the church so things would make more sense:,) of course we told him it would all come in time.

he seems very excited & so are we!!

in other news, we went to a revival service in a park one night & 2 of the "prophets" that preached gave us signed copies of their books!!! ill give yall a review once i read em:,,,) one of them started speaking gibberish when he was praying over someone, it was wild haha.

there was a county fair in artesia this week so we went to a couple events... a christian country concert (check out the band cochren & co, theyre really good) and then bull riding!!! there were so many cowboys it was awesome... just preppin to be a ranch wife or something someday:,) sister oliver tried her very first funnel cake too!!! lifechanging!

my cutie comp also hit her 6 month mark yesterday so we built a fort & slept in it to celebrate! im so thankful for her... we have SO much fun!!

as for a spiritual tidbit...

TAKE A MINUTE RIGHT NOW TO IMAGINE A HUG FROM JESUS!!!! hello.... the best hug ever right?!

a bunch of kids in our ward went to moronis quest, similar to trek but acting out Book of Mormon events instead of pioneer ones, and on the last day, there was a man pretending to be Jesus who came over a big hill & started hugging everyone! ONE BY ONE! and there were like 300 people there! all the kids said it was sooo spiritual and i felt the spirit so strong when they talked about it.

"... will ye not now return unto me, and repent of your sins, and be converted, that I may heal you?... behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me."

3 nephi 9:13-14

dont forget how much Christ loves you! hes your Redeemer, Friend, Advocate, Savior, Shepherd... whatever you need Him to be! and when things get difficult, imagine Him giving you the hugest, bestest hug you could ever imagine:)
