Week 41!

this week was a bit slower but there were still some funky and fun things that happened!

- we went to Carlsbad for pday and went to sitting bull falls! super super pretty! then we played sand volleyball and football in the pouring rain.. honestly just so fun to be with other missionaries!

- we have 2 creepy stalkers in artesia:,) one guy is an active member named brother freeman who wants us to be a motherly figure for his daughter and always tries to trap us after church... the ward keeps us away from him haha they've got our backs. also there's a guy named abel who lives down the street from us who was in love with a sister who was here right before me sooo he sends us super creepy texts and always seems to be out walking when we are. AND he left flowers on our doorstep one night:,) kiiiiinda scary but the ward is also aware of that too so don't worry mom, I will be safe.

- WE HAVE A DOG! well she's a neighborhood stray but she always hangs out at our house and when we go out walking or biking, she follows us for blocks! sis chock called her trash bag for some reason so now we call her trashy:,)

- we've did a lot of service this week! we helped out at a community garden weeding and hosing stuff off and then we helped clean at a domestic violence shelter in town. always feels good to help people:)

SOMETHING SO COOL! there's a lady in our ward with 2 kids and she's going through a pretty messy divorce that makes it really difficult for her mentally and emotionally. I didn't know her very well but I felt prompted to ask her if she needed any service this week and she said yes! so we spent a couple hours one day cleaning up her backyard and she was SO thankful and kept calling us a blessing! then while we were working I felt prompted to ask her if she had read her patriarchal blessing recently. she said that her little brother who's on a mission asked her the same thing last pday and that she knew it was God telling her she needed to! AND THEN I felt prompted to ask her if she would want to meet up for a message on Sunday and she said YES! she couldn't go to church cause her husband was taking the kids to church and so she was so excited. during the lesson I felt prompted to share 2 kings 6:15-17 with her and yet again, she said that that was exactly what she needed to hear. HOW CRAZY IS THAT? prompting after prompting! God truly works through us to bless his children! I challenge you all to look for someone this week to truly serve. pray about it! I promise that if you pray and ask God who needs your help, with the intent to act, God will place someone in your path who needs YOU! you'll both feel a special outpouring of God's love!
