Week 33!

sister sanders is leaving me for midland and i am gonna miss her soo much:( BUT SHES FINISHING SOMEONES TRAINING! that means I'll be a grandmaaa yayuhhh. I'm staying in Eastland & getting a new comp named Sister Mac Donald! she seems mega sweet.

this week was a blur, don't even know what happened mostly. we did have some pretty cool things happen though!
- Wednesday & Thursday we talked to a lot of new people! it's been really hard to find anyone to talk to but we got a couple numbers and passed out some copies of the Book of Mormon and shared some powerful verses.. feels good to know that the spirit was there!
- we had 3 nonmembers at the Bible study we started!! Jeannie & Katy & Dana! and they LOVED it.
- we have been helping with one of our mission facebook pages (Followers of Jesus Christ in West Texas, go like it if you want, theres some fire and inspiring content on there) this transfer, it's been a big task, but on a meeting this week, the social media specialists said that they're seeing a lot of growth specifically with that page!!
- general conference was AWESOME! we just watched it in our beds in our apartment :,) but WOW the talks were so inspired I cannot wait to study them more in depth. Dana watched the last part of the Sunday morning session and said she loved it so much, only complaint was she wished she could understand the words to the hymns better:,)

one thing I've learned about this area is that everyone hates "mormons" or is at least very apprehensive towards them. that makes working in this area very hard since everyone ignores you or avoids getting out of their car when you walk by or shut the door on you... it was very discouraging for a while. but one thing I focused a lot on this past transfer was charity, specifically living the law of love which is defined by Steve Young as "loving as God loves, seeking another's healing, expecting nothing in return." basically being kind to and loving people even if they don't love me back! it's been HARD considering the culture towards our church in this area but this past week I have learned that our efforts have not gone unnoticed. Patty, the boss of the food pantry, said that we are the hardest working and fun pair of sisters they've ever had. she also said she's noticed us get involved in the community more than any other missionaries and that their pastor at the methodist church even acknowledged it! Jeannie, the lady who started the Bible study we've been going to for a while, was telling us that when we first responded to her story saying we wanted to come to her Bible study, she reaaaaally didn't want us to come. she thought missionaries were weird and that we would mess it up... but she let us come anyway and EVERYONE at that Bible study said we have changed their perspective on our church and on loving people regardless of their beliefs. they learned that we are trying to spread news of the same Jesus that they love!
im not saying this to toot our own horn BUT I want everyone to know that your love, smile, and kindness goes a LONG way, even if you don't see reciprocation right away or ever! success comes in many forms and I truly believe that God and Jesus Christ are proud of my efforts and your efforts, whatever they may be! as elder stanfill said in the last session of conference, the lord will perfect our harvest and not a kernel will be lost!!!

I know God loves each of you and is proud of everything you're doing to be good disciples! and if there are things you need to improve on, I know that Jesus Christ is there to strengthen and bless you along the way.

love yall so much!
