Week 31!
any of my other missionary pals struggling to write weekly emails lol.. i get to pday and I don't even know what happened 2 days ago
BUT I hit 7 months this past week! so crazy! it's incredible to look back and see how much I've grown already and I'm not even halfway:)
we had exchanges this week so I cruised up to San Angelo to be with Sister Wadsworth! the weather was actually nice, we were able to walk around, and PEOPLE WERE ACTUALLY OUTSIDE. we met some pretty cool families, gave one of them pictures of Jesus & a Book of Mormon and the other we prayed with one! both our areas have been struggling to find people to talk to so God put places people in our path to help us and them out im sure:)
we had a miracle at Bible study too!! one of the guys who always comes is nice but is always sizing us up, trying to catch us in our words and prove us wrong. at the end of the study we were sharing our praises for the week and he shared with us a crazy spiritual experience he had where he literally heard a voice telling him he is not God, that he can't save people, and why is he trying to convert people to Jesus if they're already Christian. he knew immediately that God meant us. so he looked up more about what we believe in (I guess he didn't find anti so that's good:,)) and had a total change of heart. he was totally crying and everything when he was telling us this it was crazy. we got in the car after and both sis sanders and I were like "yup, that's why we had to come to Bible study.. that was one of our purposes right there." SO COOL!
we rode our bikes all afternoon on Saturday! we didn't see much success but we sure had fun haha. we're hoping the weather stays nice so we can keep doing that.
I've been obsessed with studying charity lately... I've found myself focusing a lot on it since I've come on my mission. I think I've already said this BUT if you're looking for a good book to read, read "the law of love" by Steve Young... THE LAW OF LOVE=CHARITY! loving as God loves, seeking another's healing, expecting nothing in return! I have seen so many little (but worth it) miracles since I've read that and truly tried to apply that, making friendships and building connections with people without expecting baptism or something else in return.
RICHARD is the perfect example of living the law of love... we met him in the slums of San Ang, smoking a cigarette and drinking a beer, wearing the coolest jacket ever. we walked up to him and I complimented him on the jacket and he goes "you want it?" I said "no no of course not it's yours" but he started talking it off and said "I have another one.. you like it, you have it." I almost cried. Richard is living in humble circumstances but he gave something up for me, expecting nothing in return. he didn't know it, but that healed a piece of me that day! I aspire to be like Richard and I'll never forget him:) LOVE SOMEONE THIS WEEK!
sorry this is a bit of a longer one haha but props to you if you made it this far :,)
love yall so much!
