Week 14!
Week 14:)
Fun fact about Sister Adams, she's the oldest of 7 siblings! She told me a bunch of stories this week about how her and her siblings were absolute menaces haha it was awesome.
This week started with exchanges. Sister Brimhall is amazing and I am so glad I was able to spend a day with her. We helped a lady decorate for Christmas and she has an upside down Christmas tree... suuuuper weird looking but she loves it haha.
We had zone conference on Thursday and oy was amazing! We talked a lot about the importance of baptism and also how to be more effective missionaries when it comes to finding new people to teach. Our zone also filmed a special musical number for a future devotional and I got to accompany it on the piano! Thanks mom for forcing me to keep practicing:,) playing the piano has brought me a lot of peace out here.
Friday we were out siiiiick... change in weather and hard work really messed us up:,) spent the day with another sick companionship though which made it less boring.
A lot of our lessons punched this week which is super unfortunate BUT we had a cool lesson with our friend Lamont where he told us he would want to be baptized in the future and wants to start working on things and studying about it! Even when things don't go our way as missionaries, it's easy to find positives and Lamont was one of them this week!
I've been really worried about one of our inactive member friends we've been working with. He has a really hard time recognizing the spirit and finding the courage to go back to church. I have prayed every day for a miracle for him and this week, he regressed even more and doesn't even want to meet with us. I felt SO MUCH PAIN when he told us that and then it hit me... this is how God feels when we turn away from him, after all he's given us.
Yesterday during personal study, I came across 2 Nephi 27:23. It says "For behold, I am God; and I am a God of miracles; and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith."
I had a realization that God is loving and wants to bless us! The catch is that there has to be faith involved. Right now, our friend does not have that faith. Does that mean that God won't place a miracle in his life? NO! I have sufficient faith, so does Sister Adams, so does his family on the other side of the veil... even when you aren't strong enough, there are people around you that are. KEEP TRYING!! God will not leave you alone and he will not leave you without a miracle! I pray for a miracle for our friend and also that he will have the strength to have the faith for himself one day too.
Thank you for your faith and prayers for me and all the other missionaries. I know we couldn't do this without your faith:) I'd love if you would pray for my friends, people who need a little bit more heavenly help right now:) their names are Lamont, Crystal, John, Matthew, Jessica, Doug, and PJ.
I want yall to know that GOD LOVES YOU! His arm is always outstretched! Turn to him!
And i love you! You're always welcome to reach out to me as well! Have a blessed week:)
