Week 8!
Week 8 man...... what the heeeeeck hahah. Almost done with transfer #1!
Fun fact about Sister Adams this week UHM...
Dang it I'm running out of facts:,) OH well her family has been on a road trip for a year, she was road tripping with them for the 3 weeks she was in HMTC! They're finally settling down in... wait for it... San Antonio HAHA. She'll be leaving her mission in Texas to go home to Texas. She doesn't think it's a very fun fact but I think it is.
This week was full of little miracles! It also went by very fast which was a miracle in and of itself too:,)
Last pday was LIT we did a zone BBQ and elder miller grilled for us... his little grill got stolen though so we won't be doing anymore of those.
We had a media referral, someone who responded to a church ad on Facebook asking for more information from missionaries, and her name is Meli... usually we reach out to them and they never respond or they say they aren't interested but she was STOKED to meet up so we were too.. She ended up being CRAZY hahah like we walked into her house and there were like 3 dogs in her messy kitchen digging around for food and I was like "hey those are cute dogs what are their names?" and she goes "Those are strays they won't leave me alone." She tried shooing them out but she left the door open so they came back in in the middle of our lesson hahah. We taught her anyway and invited her to read the Book of Mormon buuuut I don't know if she actually will or, if she does, if she will be able to comprehend any of it hahah.
One of our miracles was that one of our friends came to church yesterday! His name is Lamont and he is another media referral who actually has interest. We had an appointment set up for last week and on the day of, he cancelled rip buuut HE asked US what time church was and told us he was coming... we hadn't even met or taught or invited him to come but he came!! We taught him the restoration right after sacrament meeting and he liked it! He's going to listen to the Book of Mormon on the app this week:)
On Saturday, we helped a member of our stake named Brother Stubbs move some stuff out of church storage for the temple... coolest thing about him: HE DOESNT HAVE HANDS! His arms end in stubs JUST LIKE HIS NAME! how cool is thaaaaat. He has cool hook hand contraption things instead of hands. Anyways, after we helped him move stuff, he took us to get cinnamon rolls AND the guy pulling the trailer of stuff gave us a $100 bill and told us to get lunch... the elders chose Buffalo Wild Wings so we went and watched some football while we ate:,)
Last night, we taught Jessica again. She was the woman from last time that wasn't really progressing:( we went into the lesson super unmotivated because of how things went last time BUT we prayed to have the spirit with us to teach her. We ended up just asking her a bunch of questions that led to her telling us her biggest reservation behind not reading the Book of Mormon: people telling her negative things about it and the church. She said they didn't make her feel good but that it stopped her from picking it up to read it. I felt STRONGLY to talk to her about Satan and how he will try to do everything he can to keep us from progressing, especially when we are so close to accomplishing something good! I know this is true for all of us, that when we are trying our best to be righteous, that is when Satan is trying our best to tear us down because he does NOT want us to grow our relationship with Jesus Christ. I bore my testimony of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and that if she overcame the temptations from satan, choosing to read it every day, she would feel extra peace in her home and with her family. SHE SAID SHE WOULD DO IT!! she even asked for some chapter suggestions to help her get started. I KNOW that The Spirit led that lesson and that He was the one teaching her and opening her heart!! I know that the Book of Mormon is truly another testament of Jesus Christ and that if we read it, we will draw closer to Him! Everyone PLEASE pray for Jessica to have the strength to read and progress!
I'm seriously so happy to be here and to see people progress on the covenant path!! This gospel is truly a gospel of joy and peace! This is God's work among his people and im thankful to be a part of it.
Whoever made it this far, here is a virtual hug........ :)
