Week 10!
Hey yall week 10! Also this was the last week of transfer 1! My first and last 7 week transfer and they'll all be 5 or 6 weeks from here... easyyyy hahah. Transfer news.. our zone got obliterated AHH pretty much every companionship got changed up except for me and sister adams. We're still comps and we're staying in heritage ward!
Fun fact about Sister Adams this week: she is very kindhearted. She's the first one to check up one everyone who might be struggling... everyone here calls her Momma Adams haha.
We had our last district council on Tuesday and it was awesome! We did a little testimony meeting and talked about why were here on missions. The Spirit was so strong:)
We went to a super yummy BBQ place called The Shack on Thursday for lunch. Elder Miller has been talking about it all transfer and we finally got to try! The meat was super good but honestly the ribs we had at bishops house week one were still better... homemade BBQ>restaurant.
Friday was food bank day! One of these times I'll try and get a picture there it's always a highlight of my week. This time we bagged up plums with a lady and we had some super good conversations about Jesus and family. It's super cool to have productive conversations about religion where we find common ground, something that happens a lot here in Texas.
In contrast, there are a lot of people who set up lessons with us who just want to argue their opinions and tell us why were wrong haha. There was a man named Ray who we set up a lesson with and when we set it up he asked who would be there. We said there would probably be 4 of us totally (because we try to bring members to lessons) and he said "fine I'll bring ice cream" and we were like uhhhhhhh that's nice but you don't have to. And then he said, "nah I will, nothing better than Jesus and ice cream." Honestly it's a good thing he brought the ice cream because he proceeded to Bible bash us and tell us why our religion is wrong and why we don't have the priesthood. We invited him to learn for himself if the Book of Mormon is true. He said he would read it but he would read anti material first so when could compare "us to our enemies."
This leads me to my spiritual thought... luckily when we said this, the elders had just walked in, definitely spirit led. Elder Miller added to the invitation and said "well if you're going to choose to go about it that way, I invite you to make an effort to pray before and after you read both. Pay attention to how you feel when you're reading them." He said he would and told us to check up on him after a couple weeks once he got a chance to study :,) so everyone pray for Ray!! But I think there's a really good lesson to learn from this! We are promised with the Spirit to lead and guide us. He testifies of truth. All we have to do is be able to recognize it!! I invite yall to make a special effort to pray to have the spirit this week! Hopefully yall aren't searching for anti material like Ray but either way, there are so many ways we can be led by the Spirit throughout our day to day activities.
Virtual hugs and kisses!!! Yall are awesome! Feel free to Google chat or email me I would LOVE to hear from you:) Talk to ya next week!
